Corn Husks to Trivet

It’s Nature Week at City Made. We want to celebrate nature by looking at it in a different way. Some of our projects are decorative and some are functional. Enjoy.

Our first project: Corn Husk Trivet.

It’s that time of year where corn becomes a staple at picnics and barbecues. Ever wonder what to do with all those husks? We made a trivet. We dried the husks, then soaked and braided them. Then we sewed them together in a circular pattern. Our trivet is the perfect size for setting small pots on.
